Mrs. Janice Martinez, Principal

Janice has been a Catholic school teacher for twenty years, teaching elementary, middle and high school throughout the Archdiocese of Santa Fe. She has spent the last eight years developing and teaching a classical curriculum and she truly believes classical learning is the solution to many of the problems facing education today. Janice has also conducted historical research in archives in Europe and was a graduate, teaching assistant at the University of New Mexico. She has one B.A. in French Literature and another B.A. in Education. Moreover, she has an M.A. in Modern European History from the University of New Mexico and a Master’s in Theology from Catholic Distance University. Janice has been married for nineteen years to Robert Martinez and belongs to St Thomas Aquinas Parish in Rio Rancho.

Mrs. Adrienne Campbell, Faculty
1st and 2nd Grade

Adrienne Campbell will be teaching 1st and 2nd grade at Holy Child. She has previously worked for Rio Rancho Public Schools for 13 years as a 2nd grade teacher and literacy interventionist. She currently holds a level II teaching license with a reading endorsement. Adrienne received her bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from UNM and her teaching license from the College of Santa Fe at Albuquerque. Adrienne has been married to Richard Campbell for 23 years. They have a 22 year old daughter and a 19 year old son. They belong to St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Rio Rancho. Adrienne is very excited about being at Holy Child and is looking forward to working in such a special and faith filled environment.


Ms. Tiersa Cimino, Faculty
7th & 8th Grade Literature, History, & Composition

Tiersa was raised in Edgewood, New Mexico and attended East Mountain High School. She graduated from UNM with a dual degree in History and Religious Studies. Her main focus of interest is Christianity in the medieval era and Catholicism in America. While attending UNM, she found herself searching for truth and found it in the Catholic Church. She was welcomed into the Church Easter of 2016. She is excited to be a part of the faculty at Holy Child and hopes to instill in her students a love of history, literature, and writing.


Mrs. Adrienne Curtin, Faculty
Physical Education
Kindergarten Aide,4th Grade Aide

Adrienne has a degree from UNM in Business and K-12 Education (which included training in Physical Education). She homeschooled her six children and has been an active member of Holy Child Parish for some time now.


Mrs. Melissa Daugherty, Faculty
Kindergarten - 8th Grade Art

Melissa Daugherty is extremely happy to be heading up the enrichment program at HCCS this year. She believes that art, art history and music dovetail perfectly with a classical curriculum in that they give voice and vision to the subjects taught at HCCS. Melissa has taught drawing and art history to upwards of 250 children over the last eight years and several of her former students are pursuing advanced training in studio art. Melissa is thrilled to able to bring the glories of the Catholic visual heritage to her own parish here at Holy Child. She is currently a returning student at UNM and after completion of her BFA she plans to pursue advanced training in painting.


Mrs. Deborrah Figge, Office Manager
Music Teacher

Deborrah brings 20 years of office management experience to Holy Child Catholic School and has been the business manager at HCCS since its inception in 2008. She is also the music teacher for the K-8 program which instructs the students in solfège sight singing, music appreciation, and study of the great classical composers. Deborrah has been a vocalist and worked in music ministry for over 30 years and currently leads two choirs at Holy Child Parish, one of which is the Holy Child Catholic School Choir.


Mrs. Michelle Fogarty, Faculty
1st & 2nd Grade Science

Michelle graduated from Idaho State University with a B.S. degree in Speech Pathology followed by a M.S. degree in Audiology. She worked as a professional audiologist until deciding to stay home and begin homeschooling her three children. She has been past president of Corpus Christi Home School Cooperative and has always taught a diverse, rich, classical curriculum with a focus on providing interventions for all types of learners. Michelle then built on that experience by completing her teaching liscensure. Michelle and her husband, Steve, are members of Holy Child Parish. They have three children, Matthew is a senior at Benedictine getting a dual degree in liberal arts and electrical engineering, Erin is a junior at UNM getting a psychology degree and Liam is a sophomore at Southwest secondary learning center.


Mrs. Ruthanne Hamrick, Education Assistant
1st - 8th Grade Latin

Ruthanne Hamrick will be our Latin EA. She has lived in Cedar Crest since 1990. She has been the church pianist since that time and has been teaching piano lessons since 1993. She has a Bachelors degree from UNM in Fine Art and a Masters Degree from Trinity Theological Seminary in Biblical Counseling. She and her husband home-schooled their three children, using a classical approach. In so doing, she and they learned Latin, which she was then employed to teach at Rio Grande Enrichment Studies from 2008-2013. She also teaches women's Bible Study classes and does counseling as a ministry of her church.


Mrs. Colette McCleave, Faculty
Preschool 3 & 4

Colette is a product of Catholic education from kindergarten through high school. She graduated from UNM in 1990 with a degree in Elementary Education. Colette taught elementary school for two years with Albuquerque Public Schools and the Moriarty-Edgewood schools before taking a 14-year break to stay home and raise her kids. Colette, her husband, Josh, and their five children are members of Holy Child Parish.


Mrs. Connie Rogers, Faculty
4th & 8th Grade Grammer and Handwriting

Connie moved from Kansas to New Mexico in 1999 to be closer to her three children and two grandchildren. She taught at Our Lady of the Assumption in Albuquerque for four years and at Prince of Peace in Cedar Crest for two years, while also working part-time as Director of Religious Education at Holy Child, where she is now employed full time. Previously, Connie taught for the Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wichita, Kansas, for twenty-five years. "Teaching in Catholic schools has been a great gift in my life - a marvelous opportunity to grow, share and pass on the Faith and integrate it into every aspect of learning and life. It is my love and my mission." Connie will be teaching mid-school Language Arts at HCCS. When she is not working, you will find her gardening, sewing or playing Bridge with family and friends.


Mrs. Lisa Sanchez Faculty
5th, 6th, 7th & 8th Grade Math and Science
6th Grade Religion

For the last two years Mrs. Sanchez has taught Middle School Math and Science. In the past 8 years, Lisa has worked diligently to make the transition from a business career in banking into teaching. She recently graduated from the University of New Mexico (summa cum laude) with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary K-8 Education and with a Mathematics and Language Arts endorsement. While raising her three daughters, Lisa has also been a substitute teacher in the greater Albuquerque area as well as a Religious Education teacher at Holy Child parish. Lisa brings into teaching a deep content knowledge and ability in Math as well as an efficient, no-nonsense approach toward learning and preparedness as a teacher.


Mrs. Elizabeth Stern, Faculty
3rd & 4th Grades

Elizabeth (Beth) Stern is originally from Edgewood, NM and has a B.A. in English Language and Literature from Christendom College in Front Royal, VA. After living and working in Pennsylvania, Rome, IT, and Vermont, Beth is honored and excited to be teaching the 3rd and 4th grade class at Holy Child Catholic School.


Mrs. Diana Teeters, Faculty
Math Lower school

Diana is an twelve-year veteran primary teacher whose employment at Holy Child will be a "coming back", of sorts, to Catholic education. A product of both Catholic elementary and high school in Ohio, Diana's distinguished career includes a particular experience with techniques that promoted rigor in the classroom as well as innovation in learning for all types of learners. Her most recent position as Kindergarten teacher at Governor Bent Elementary School in Albuquerque gives her early childhood learning experiences to go along with her 7 years teaching in grades 1st-3rd. Diana and her husband, Steve, are members of Holy Child Parish and have three sons, Dominic (grade 1), Luke (pre-k-3) and the newly born, Xavier. She enjoys crafts, reading, hiking, travel and sports. She has a Bachelors of Science in Education from Ohio University, with a concentration in English.
